If you ever wondered  what a North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC) Competitive Trail Ride is all about this might be a good place to start!

Have you tried an NATRC ride in the past and would like to learn more or sharpen up your trail riding skills?  Here’s your chance to participate in a “hands on” experience.  With our low “mentor to rider” ratio, this is a great opportunity to get some personalized coaching in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Join NATRC for this fun and educational Introduction to NATRC clinic at the Greenland Open Space (located just off I-25 between Castle Rock and Colorado Springs). Bring your horse or come without one.  We will divide the clinic participants into groups of four riders and  one experienced NATRC rider (parents/kids and friends can be assigned to the same group). The groups will then go from “station to station” so every horse and rider will have a chance to learn some tips, and to try their hand at many of the obstacles you might find on a competitive trail ride. Auditors,  those individuals without a horse, will have an experienced ‘coach’ as well, who will explain what the riders are doing. We will take a maximum of 24 riders with horses, plus four auditors.

Tentative Schedule:
8:30 – 9 AM: Registration and group assignment
9 – 9:15 AM: Welcome, Introductions and Briefing
9:30 – 12:30 AM: Groups to stations
12:30 – 1:30 PM: Lunch, Q&A, Wrap-up
Lunch will be provided, with a Q&A period to wrap up the clinic.
Afternoon, it’s your choice! Practice more obstacles, ride the trails or head back home.

Station 1 (parking lot, obstacle course): Trailer safety, vetting in/out, in hand obstacles, mount
Station 2 (obstacle course): Mounted work on selected obstacles on the obstacle course
