If you use regional trails, you might think about attending some of these meetings and using your voice to speak out for horses!
Open Space and Mountain Parks will be joining other local, state, and federal land-management agencies, in a partnership led by Boulder County to develop a long term, master plan for a network of access points and travel corridors in the foothills and mountains of Boulder County. The goal of the Regional Mountain Trails Master Plan is to connect communities and recreation areas in the mountains and foothills to regional trails in the plains. The plan will emphasize linking existing trails and trail systems.

Initial Public Meetings
Public listening kick-off meetings are being held at 11 sites across the county from mid-April to mid-May. The purpose of the meetings is to listen to the desires and concerns of the public and to share baseline information about the project. Each meeting will follow the same format and is not geared to any one specific community. Input will be used to formulate a set of principles to guide the year-long planning process. Initial Public Comment Period
To help define the many unique opportunities and challenges of this effort, the partners are initiating a period of public outreach this spring to gather comments on the community’s needs, expectations, and concerns with the project. It is anticipated that this initial phase will result in a set of principles and community values that will guide the remainder of this year-long planning process.
