City Seeks Feedback on Open Space and Mountain Parks Director

Boulder wants to hear from the public about the qualities people want in the next director of Open Space and Mountain Parks. Boulder is engaged in a national search for a new director. Mike Patton retired late last year after 39 years with the city. City Manager Jane Brautigam said in a news release that city officials want to understand what the community thinks are the key issues facing the open space system and what qualities and areas of competency the new director should have.CPS HR Consulting is conducting the search for the city.

There will be two public meetings this month to get input early in the search process:
February 25, 2015
6 – 7 PM UCAR FL2 Auditorium
3250 Mitchell Lane
February 26, 2015
6 – 7 PM
West Boulder Senior Center 909 Arapahoe Avenue
Stuart Satow, executive recruiter from CPS HR, will attend the meetings and incorporate the feedback into the search process. The position will be advertised in early March. Finalists will be invited to give public presentations in Boulder, attend a meet-and-greet with the public and engage in panel interviews with the city staff and representatives of the Open Space Board of Trustees later this year.
